Hurricane Nicole has weakened to a tropical storm after making landfall on the US state of Florida’s east coast this morning. State of emergency and evacuation orders are now in place as heavy rains continue. The storm has left more than 100,000 people without power. Storms of this size so late in the year are rare. After Florida, Nicole is set to hit Georgia and South Carolina. It could possibly even hit Ohio, Pennsylvania and New York later in the week.
