The Bank of Jamaica is projecting that inflation will end the 2020 calendar year at 6.7 per cent. The projection was outlined in the Central Bank‘s inflation expectation survey for September. The current projection is marginally higher than the July 2020 survey outturn of 6.2 per cent. The expected inflation 12 months ahead also increased marginally to 7.0 per cent relative to the previous survey outturn of 6.5 per cent. The BOJ also highlighted that respondents anticipate that the Jamaican currency will depreciate over the next 12 months at a faster pace compared to the previous survey.
